  • Description: Serial #SHERIFF002NF, .45 Colt, 7" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a unique revolver with factory engraving and gold inlay by Robert Burt. The gun was used as a Colt exhibition piece displayed at the 2000 Colt Collectors Show, and again at the 2001 Antique Arms Show in Las Vegas. The features that make this revolver unique are the 7" barrel length, ejector-less frame, beveled long flute cylinder, and factory extended grip. The revolver features full coverage factory Class C engraving with gold inlaid accents on the frame, cylinder and barrel. The barrel has the two-line address normally used on 4 3/4" guns, and is marked "COLT NEW FRONTIER STOREKEEPER'S MODEL" on the left; "COLT NEW FRONTIER S.A.A. 45" on the right. The work is flawlessly executed with the artist's full signature along the bottom of the barrel: "Engraved by Robert B. Burt". The one-piece smooth ivory grip fits flawlessly, and is scrimmed with a five-pointed sheriff's badge on the left side. The revolver is finished in full blue and remains in practically new condition. The gun comes with a very detailed factory letter along with the original Colt invoice (which is made out to "The Rampant Colt" in Maumee, Ohio). A photograph of Bob Burt holding the revolver at the Reston, VA Colt Show is also included. Interestingly, the invoice states that the two-line barrel address was to be italicized but it is not. The revolver comes in its original Colt Custom Shop box with original end label. This is a wonderful, uniquely configured, and 100% factory, Colt exhibition gun, and would make a splendid addition to any fine collection. FFL
