Swiss Model 1870 Vetterli Cadet Rifle (Target Modified)

  • Price: $695.00
  • Maker: Swiss
  • Model: Vetterli
  • Caliber: .41

  • Description: Serial #7266, 10.4 x 38R CF and RF, 26 3/4” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This cadet rifle has Bern maker’s markings, and has a matching numbered bolt with CF firing pin installed. The barrel and receiver have retained 90-92% of the original blue finish with the balance faded to a mild plum-brown color, faded to gray along the high edges. The original tangent rear sight is still in place, however, a target bead front sight on a blocky ramp has been added to the muzzle. The walnut stock is in fine shape with numerous small handling marks and blemishes in the original varnish finish, and a clear “M (in shield)” stamp on the right side. An original, paper-wrapped spare rimfire firing pin is present in the stock compartment underneath the buttplate. This is a very nice Swiss cadet rifle, and rates fine condition overall. Antique
