  • Description: This is a truly nice sword that measures 34 7/8” overall and has a 30” slightly curved, single-edged blade with long single fullers. The blade has an excellent, bright original polish with a few negligible specks of dark freckling along either side. The distinctive Eickhorn squirrel trademark is present on the ricasso reverse, and the leather hilt “bumper' is still in place. The dove hilt has a single quillon, engraved tombstone langets (Third Reich eagle on the obverse), and stirrup guard. The brass has a mild, yellow-ochre patina throughout with about 50-60% of the original gold wash remaining, and the black composite grip is in excellent shape with an intact braided wire wrap. The scabbard is also in excellent shape and has most of the original applied black finish remaining. This is a great example of a Heer dove-hilt sword by a well-known maker, and is in excellent overall condition.
