This '49 pocket has the 5" octagon barrel with 2 line Hartford address. The 6 shot cylinder has no remaining safety pins. About 80% of the stagecoach scene remains. All numbers match with the wedge a later replacement, numbered to the gun in the wrong style numbers. The cylinder shows the type 2 ratchet. Hammer checkering is correct with a roller at the bottom. The serial No. 203259, shows 1862 production. The brass trigger-guard and frame retain about 39% silver plating and show the name "J. McClap"? "or Mc Clupe?" scratched on the inside grip frame. The metal has a smooth even brown finish with traces of case color on the frame. The bore has some pitting with strong rifling. The action is crisp. A nice clean 6 shot '49 pocket revolver with a front sight that is most likely a replacement to improve sighting. Antique
