Maker: Winchester Model: 70

The .264 Winchester magnum was introduced by the company in 1960. The .264 was called the "Westerner" and produced only in the .264 magnum. This serial No. shows production in the first year, 1960. The 26" barrel is marked "Winchester proof steel" and still has a nice strong "throat" forward of the chamber. The custom stock appears to be by Reinhart Fajen with extra fancy figured walnut on both sides with a right hand shooter's cheek rest with rollover comb and rosewood pistol grip cap and forend tip. The recoil pad is a black Pachmayr white line model. The scope is a Bausch and Lomb Balvar 8B 2.5 X 8 X with tapered cross hair reticule in Bausch and Lomb mounts. Sling swivel studs have been installed. A gorgeous piece of fancy walnut makes this M. 70 a fine addition to any collection or shooter's rack. FFL
