This type 99 long rifle was made at Toriimatsu factory of Nagoya arsenal, the serial number 7181 is only 3 numbers away from out lot #10324 which has serial No. 7178. The highest serial number recorded for this series is 8200. The 31" barrel has a fair, dark bore that may clean better, inverted V front sight with guards, 3 screw front barrel band, 29 3/8" cleaning rod, the rear band is drilled for a monopod, now missing, the rear sight is adjustable from 300 to 1500 meters with the stubby and aircraft wing correctly notched on both sides, ground mum with type letters intact, 2 piece buttstock with 2 drain holes, short handguard, The box and extractor are mismatched with number 492 the exterior metal and bore need a good cleaning.
