SN 2601 model 1913, 35 cal. This pistol has a bright excellent bore and is finished in nickel with the exception of the breech block, trigger, trigger guard and magazine. The balance of the pistol is factory nickel. A very close and magnified examination of all of the stampings shows no trace of buffing or polishing. All stamping are of the correct uniform depth. There is no factory refinish stamp or dishing on any of the surfaces. The factory records indicate that this pistol was hipped to Iver Johnson in Boston in 1915. As a blue finish and smooth grips. There is an obvious conflict between the records and the pistol. As indicated above we have no doubt as to the original finish on this piece. A few other knowledgeable people have examined it as well and have drawn the same conclusion . We would suggest that nay interest parties should study the photos of the finish and markings to decide for themselves if the gun or the factory records are correct. This piece originated out of eastern Canada and was imported. It is import marked on the butt adjoining the frame. The pistol was apparently purchased in Boston and taken to Canada many years ago by the original owned. This oral information corresponds with the shipping to Boston. This piece comes with its original pocket holster as built by Heisor. A very interesting and neat variation of a S7W model 1913. FFl or C&R
