Fraternal Mason's Sword by Armstrong

Maker: Fraternal Model: Sword

This sword is etched with the name "Luther McAfee Nellis" and has his initials scrimmed on the ivory grip. The ricasso is etched on one side "E.A. Armstrong/MGF.Co/ 300 Wabash Ave./Chicago, Ill." The company was bought out by Frank Henderson about 1894 until it failed in 1899. See pages 207-208 in "The American Fraternal Sword" by Hamilton, Marino & Kaplan. Around a crowned cross is the motto "be thou faithful unto death I will" and "give thee a crown of life". A Knights Templar sword with German made blade and silver plated attachments on the scabbard.
