This Mark III artillery carbine is marked on the right stock "N.S.W./C/625/92" with a roundel marked "HB Co L.D." around "crown over broad arrow". The right frame has a crown/V.R./HRB CO./ 1893/viewer's mark/I.C.1.". The 21 1/2" barrel Knox form shows 3 stars and a bayonet lug is fitted. H.R.B. is the abbreviation for Henry Rifle Barrel Company of London. See Pg 120 in "Australian Military Rifles and Bayonets" by Ian Skennerton. A bayonet lug is mounted and the special carbine cleaning rod is installed. Bright, very good to excellent bore with minor frosting. Very good exterior condition both wood and metal. These carbines are not that common in the USA. This example is in better than average condition. Antique
