This is a fine example of a British issue Artillery Carbine of the Enfield series. This is the model made in Liege, Belgium under contract with the British Board of Ordnance. It is untouched, 100% correct example, made in l861. The lock is marked "1861" with a Crown over a Broad Arrow. The barrel has multiple Belgium proof marks. The stock is stamped with a Broad Arrow and 1861 in circle. There are proof stamps near end of trigger guard. The ramrod is proof marked and numbered. This was the standard carbine of Royal Artillery from the late l850's to the late l860's and used by the British throughout their Colonies. Antique
