Martini Henry artillery carbine

This artillery carbine has been converted to caliber .303 in 1897. The right frame shows a "crown/V.R./Enfield/1880/small crown broad arrow/111/1.". The left frame has "crown/v.r./Enfield/1897 and crown broad arrow/M.E. 303/A.C. 1" right stock markings are on the brass disk "1.10/R.F.A/2WX AC/12" and on the wood a roundel with "R crown M Enfield" opposing broad arrow surplus sale marks with large letters CCC". The stock has a 1 1/8" wood spacer very neatly done. The barrel knoxform has a large letter "E". 21 1/8 " barrel in caliber .303 with a bright, excellent bore. The upper barrel band has a bayonet fitting with the cleaning rod missing. A well marked carbine which saw numerous reissues. The CCC (Canadian Corp of cadets) was the last place of usage of this carbine. The stock was armory shortened. The piece was obviously saved and reinstated at a later date.
