Original buttstock from a 1876 rifle. The wood is sound with traces for original finish. There are no chips or breaks in the tang area. There are a few minor marks from usage, never sanded. There is the name of the original owner name stamped in 6 places on the left side. The forewood from the same rifle is shaved in the front which may be savable- This piece is a throw in with the buttstock.
