A .22 conversion unit for the SMLE. Consists of a bolt marked S 262 on the right side of the cocking piece and broad arrow. The bolt head is marked 22 No 20 or 6 which is case colored. The bolt comes with a .22 cal tube 25 1/2" long which is marked 98 at the breech end. The bore is bright, very good with light frosting or corrosion, bright excellent blue. The muzzle end is threaded to take a brass nut and leather washer (not included). For reference see page 268 of "The Lee Enfield", the final edition by Ian Skennerton. This piece comes in a wood tray with instructions on the reverse side.
