Danish Model 1867 Saber Bayonet
- Price: $245.00
- Maker: Danish
- Model: 1867
- Description: This is a Weyersberg-made bayonet (for the Model 1867 Rolling Block Rifle) and measures 26 3/4” overall with a 21 3/4” yataghan blade having wide single fullers. The blade has a bright, original armory finish with only one real area of dark freckling: a small spot on the obverse about ahlfway down the blade. The blade has the “GEBR. WEYERSBERG / SOLINGEN” mark on the ricasso reverse, and a faint “Germany” marking in electric pencil on the opposite side. The iron crossguard has a single hooked quillon, muzzle-ring, and has a slightly heavier gray-brown freckled patina. The steel hilt has a matching patina with scattered small impact marks, and only minor wear to the checkered leather grips. The scabbard has some mild freckling on the steel chapes, and the leather body is in about good shape with a thick coating of protectant, and a single fold at about the midway point. This is a very nice example of a Danish Rolling Block bayonet, and rates very good plus condition overall.
