Excellent Walther Model 8 Pistol 1930's Late Second Variation 25 ACP
- Maker: Walther
- Model: 8
- Caliber: .25 ACP
- Description: Serial #723328, 25 ACP, 3 barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing a hint of minor frosting and strong rifling throughout. This is a second variation model 8 pistol with the serial number placing the manufacture date around 1934 with second variation production from 1927 to 1934 and roughly 24,000 being made, total production was from 1920-1943. The metal surfaces retain about 90-92% original bright blue showing light high edge wear, some freckling along the backstrap and right side slide and a tiny spot of pinprick pitting along the right edge of slide. The blue is taking on a deep plum-brown tone under bright light and the extractor shows nice fire blue. All markings remain crisp and clear showing (Crown) / N proofs. The black checkered hard rubber grips with Walther banners and blue enameled brass medallions remain in very good plus condition showing some evident warping and a few tiny hairline cracks forming near the bases and the right medallion shows flaking enamel. One original magazine in very fine condition is included and the action seems to function well mechanically. A nice example of these handsome Walther pocket pistols that were favored by German officers during the war.
