Exceptional Spencer Model 1865 Cavalry Carbine

  • Maker: Spencer
  • Model: 1865
  • Caliber: .50RF

  • Description: Serial #11041, .50 RF, 20" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a post-Civil War carbine, built with the Stabler cut-off, and retains a stunning amount of the original, bright color case-hardening on the frame, hammer, and lockplate. A commensurate amount of the original blue remains on the barrel with just some trace fading at the muzzle. The walnut forend and "EAW" / "DAP"-inspected buttstock have only some minor handling marks and small vise marks marring the otherwise excellent original oil finish. The magazine tube is in excellent shape with a functional spring and follower, and the mechanism is tight and functions flawlessly. This is a superb Spencer carbine, with an unusually high amount of original finish remaining, and does not appear to have ever been issued. This is the nicest Spencer we have listed in 20 years on the internet and it would be very difficult to upgrade. Antique
