Original Cased Optical Sight for 37mm Japanese Type 94 Anti-Tank Gun

Description: This is an original, fixed magnification 2.5x scope with intact reticle and clear, fully serviceable optics. The scope retains 75-80% of the original black painted finish, with the balance flaked to the underlying dark gray and plum-brown metal. The center portion of the tube has a fairly bright, pewter gray patina, and there is some mild surface oxidation within the grooves of the ocular lens adjustment ring. The original black rubber eye-cup was intentionally trimmed to about 50% of the original length, presumably for greater utility, and the rubber that remains has an overall crazed surface, but is otherwise intact. The scope is housed in the correct carrying case complete with two optical filters (one orange, one red) in their circular compartments, and an original decal within the lid. The exterior of the case has black Kanji markings on the lid, and an original equipment plat on the front edge of the lid (the plate serial number is 11572, but the scope serial number is 11656). Additionally, there is a narrow sliver of wood missing from the front lip of the lid along the bottom edge.
