Rare Webley RIC No. 1 Silver & Fletcher The Expert Revolver Published

  • Price: $6,995.00
  • Maker: Webley
  • Model: RIC
  • Caliber: .476

  • Description: Serial #36387, .476 CF, 4 1/2 barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a truly handsome revolver that has no Webley markings, but conforms to an RIC No. 1 New Model. The metal has retained about 80-85% of the original bright blue, with silvering along the high and exposed edges, as well as mild freckling throughout. The hammer is outfitted with a Silver & Fletcher patent rotating safety that cams the nose of the firing pin, and their patent hammer-activated ejector (the rear face of the cylinder is rebated to give the frame-mounted ejector lip proper clearance). The topstrap is retailer marked: S.W. SILVER & Co. / 29 OLD BOND St. & 67 CORNHILL LONDON; and the barrel rib is marked: SILVER & FLETCHERS PATENT THE EXPERT. The checkered walnut grip is in fine shape with some mild flattening of the points and a few minor handling marks in the oil finish. This very revolver is illustrated on page 69 of Webley Revolvers by Bruce and Reinhart (1988), as well as on page 68 of Webley Solid Frame Revolvers Models RIC, MP, and No. 5 by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is an excellent example of an extremely rare RIC revolver, that has been published in multiple reference books. Antique
