Rare Webley & Scott Model 1909 Single-Shot Target Pistol
- Price: $895.00
- Maker: Webley
- Model: 1909
- Caliber: .22
- Description: Serial #1291, .22 LR, 10 3/8" barrel with an about good bore that has some light freckling and mild pitting within the grooves. This is a seldom seen pistol, made ca. 1920, and is distinguishable from the very similar Model 1938 by its fixed rear sight. The pistol retains 60-70% of a manufacturer-reapplied blue finish remaining. The balance of the metal has turned to a mellow plum-brown patina with silvering at the muzzle, as well as along some of the high edges and projections. The checkered walnut target grip is in fine shape, having very little noticeable wear, but the thick grip cap (which is equipped to accept a detachable shoulder stock) has thin brown freckling around the base. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional. These pistols are rather rarely encountered today, especially considering how long they were in production, and this example is in very good-fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
