S&W .38/.44 Heavy Duty Revolver Model of 1950

  • Maker: S&W
  • Model: .38/.44 Heavy Duty
  • Caliber: .38

  • Description: Serial #S91750, .38 Special, 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This early 50s revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and yoke; while the metal retains about 92-95% original blue, with most of the loss occurring on the backstrap where the blue turned to a muted gray patina. Some further silvering and fading can be seen on the barrel lug, at the muzzle, and on the trigger guard bow, and a bright turn-ring can also be seen on the cylinder. The trigger and hammer retain nearly all of their original bright color case-hardening with some mild gray fading along the edges of the trigger. The diamond checkered walnut grips are numbered to the gun and are in fine shape, although there is a small chip at the heel of the left panel, and a few scattered handling marks. The integral front sight has been extensively, and skillfully, modified to a low Patridge style. The lock up is good and the revolver rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
