- Description: This is bayonet for the SMLE No.1 Mk II rifle made at the Isahpore factory in India. It measures 16 7/8 inches overall with a 12 inch blade and 2 1/4 inch false edge. The blade has been heavily blued with about 50% remaining. The coating has a partially obscured the crown on the ricasso which appears over the GRI and R.F.I. Ishapore factory mark along with the 7 43 production date and the Mk.I with the * symbol which according to Kieslings book on Bayonets of the World is actually a Mk II pattern. The opposite side shows the bend and test mark proofs. The heavily coated crosspiece has a DP marking and the pommel has a 495 serial number. The wood grip scales have very dark stained wood with numerous dings and scratches. These bayonets have Indian made blades with components shipped in from Britain. No scabbard is included.
