Scarce Webley Mk. I Model 1912 .455 Auto Pistol by Alexander Henry

  • Maker: Webley
  • Model: 1912
  • Caliber: .455

  • Description: Serial #98474, .455 Webley Auto, 5" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1913-dated pistol, and retains 75-80% of the original blue finish with silvering at the muzzle and high edges, as well as numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout the metal. There is some fading to dull gray-brown on a few areas, especially along the sides of the grip safety, and some small areas of mild freckling scattered throughout. The hammer, extractor, and breech-stop are pewter gray, and have some further mild freckling as well. The right side of the slide is retailer marked: "ALEX HENRY & Co. / 22 FREDERICK St. / EDINBURGH." The checkered Vulcanite grips are in fine shape, with some mild flattening of the points, and a few scattered handling marks here and there. The pistol comes with a single original magazine that locks securely in both the fully-seated, and single-shot positions. This is a rarely seen pistol in the US, and is even rarer when retailer marked. It would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
