Springfield Armory U.S. Model 1903 Mark 1 Rifle

  • Maker: Spfld
  • Model: 1903
  • Caliber: .30-06

  • Description: Serial #1166775, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1920-made rifle that was has been slightly modified into a target/match configuration. It has its original 2-20 dated, "SA" barrel and retains 97-98% of a post-war Du-Lite blue finish that has some small areas of silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the exposed edges and bearing surfaces, most noticeably on the bolt body. The original Mark I magazine cut-off (designed to lock the Pedersen Device) is still present, but the original two-piece sear has been replaced with a conventional 1903 type. The front sight is a Lyman target bead version, the original rear ladder sight has been modified with a large U-notch slider, and a Lyman target aperture sight has been added to the right side of the receiver. The fine walnut handguard (with flattened “hump”) and straight grip stock have only a few minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about the otherwise excellent finish. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable leather target sling in lightly used condition. This is a very nice, Mark I '03 that was turned into a handsome match rifle, and is in excellent overall condition. FFL or C&R
