Staunton Military Academy Cadet Sword by N.S. Meyer
- Maker: US Military
- Model: Sword
- Description: This is a West Point pattern sword that measures 39 5/8" overall, with a 34" straight blade having 1/2 length etched panels. The "GERMANY" marked blade is in excellent condition with practically all of the original factory polish remaining, and crisply etched panel motifs: US and Virginia flags flanking an art deco eagle on the obverse; "Staunton Military Academy" in Gothic letters on the reverse. The brass hilt fittings are also still bright, and the solid metal grip has a very slight tarnish visible. The steel and brass scabbard has a few small spots of freckling just above the chape on the reverse. The Staunton Military Academy was founded in 1884, operating as an all-boys military school (grades 7 - 12) until its closure in 1976. This is a handsome cadet sword, and is in excellent condition.
