- Maker: Swiss
- Model: Milbank-Amsler
- Caliber: .41
- Description: Serial #9702, .41 Swiss RF, 36 1/4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle has a "JN. EHRLACH / THUN" marked lockplate, as well as "v. ERLACH u Co. / THUN" on top of the pivoting breech-block. The metal has an overall blue and plum-brown patina under a thick coat of old protective varnish. The breechblock, hammer, and lockplate have muted, but still visible color case-hardening present, and the spurred trigger guard still has some of the original bright blue finish remaining. The rifle has a standard blade front sight, mated to a regulation tangent rear sight. The walnut stock has minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about under the thick added varnish finish, with a crisp "(cross) / W" cartouche on the left side of the buttstock. The rifle comes with a correct cylindrical head ramrod, and is a fine example of a rarely seen Swiss breechloading military rifle. Antique
