- Price: $95.00
- Model: Belt
- Description: This is an interesting decorated leather money belt dating to 1830 and identified as being owned by C.W. Conklin of Marion Ohio. The colorful patriotic display tag used during the July 4th 1922 Centennial celebration of Marion, Ohio, states that the belt was worn by Godfry Riner to bring his money over from Germany when he immigrated to the America. The large belt measures 5 inches in width with a 29 inch long sewn compartment that must have held a lifetime of savings. The leather is in good but somewhat fragile condition with dried flaking and cracking. An interesting documented piece of American history.
