- Description: This is a 1916 dated, 10 pocket belt, built by Storey & Campbell of Vancouver, BC. The brown leather is in fine shape, supple and flexible, and with only minor scuffs and crazing, and is unit marked at the base of the tag-end: 36 CFA. The inner side of the belt is hand-carved with a soldiers name as well: D McD / 36; and a unit registration number is stamped on the tag-end near the unit marking: 1262314; with large C (double arrow) mark along the edge of the tab. The brass fittings are intact and have a mild ochre tarnish throughout. The 36th Canadian Field Artillery was based in Sydney, NS at the northern end of Cape Breton Island, and the registration number is listed as issued to a Percy Hilard Smith Thompson, who was attached to the Canadian 4th Division Ammunition Sub-Park. This is a splendid piece of Canadian military equipment, and would make a great addition to a WW1 Canadian collection.
