Item #39510

Webley Pre-RIC No. 3 Type Revolver (Published)

  • Price: $1,795.00
  • Maker: Webley
  • Model: RIC
  • Caliber: .442

  • Description: Serial #37, .442 CF, 4 inch barrel with a very good bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is an interesting revolver that has a spring-loaded plunger type friction brake impinging on the cylinder about midway that has left a wide turn ring in the otherwise nice original blue finish. The barrel and cylinder retain about 60-70% of the original blue finish with the frame retaining about 25-30%, mostly on protected areas, and a dull pewter gray on the balance. There is a small casting flaw on the topstrap, and no retailers marking, but the Webley Winged Bullet logo and WEBLEYS / PATENT markings are present on the either side of the frame. The checkered walnut grips have lozenge-shaped screw bolsters, and are in very good shape with light-moderate wear, and flattening of the points on both panels. This very revolver is illustrated on pg. 166 of Webley Solid Frame Revolvers Models RIC, MP, and No. 5 by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is a very nice, published, pre-RIC revolver, and rates very good-fine condition overall. Antique
