Winchester Model 1901 Shotgun with Spare Buttstock
- Maker: Winchester
- Model: 1901
- Caliber: 10 Ga.
- Description: Serial #73266, 10 Ga. (2 7/8), 32 barrel with a good, lightly pitted bore. This is a 1908-made shotgun that has retained 60-70% of the original blue finish with silvering along the high and projecting edges, as well as a mellow plum-brown patina on the balance. The barrel has a single small dent on the left side about 8 back from the muzzle. The lever and breech-block retain the most original blue, with bright silvering along the bearing surfaces. The walnut forend panels are in good shape, with numerous small handling marks in the added varnish finish, and the buttstock has an added segment at the butt giving a length-of-pull of 13. The original steel buttplate is still installed, and an unfinished replacement walnut buttstock is also included. The action is functional, however it does hang up in the open position periodically. This is a good-near very good Model 1901, and would make a great restoration project. FFL or C&R
